The version of Gamut 0.4.1 that was up for the past 12 hours was broken; thanks to Brandond Davidson for the catch. I've replaced it with a nicer one. It seems that the new SVG libraries we're using aren't too happy with the Java 1.4* that until recently was Apple's distributed version. It works fine on the Java 1.5 that now ships with the latest Mac OS X updates, so I hereby am putting a requirement of Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later for Gamut 0.4.1. Older gamuts will still work on older Mac OS X, and I put an appropriate link on the download page. |

It is possible to download Java 1.5 for all varieties of Mac OSX 10.4. http://developer.app (Find the lates "Java for Mac OS" or "J2SE 5.0" compatible with your OS version.) |

Unfortunately, it looks like Gamut 0.4.1 still suffers from the text-wrapping-upward |

Ugh. I looked for it, but I guess I didn't look hard enough. (I forgot what the exact nature of the problem was.) I guess I'll have to release another version with a rolled-back Batik lib. Frowny. Will get on it tonight. |

Better solution, more or less: On the Fluxx and SVG UI files, I applied a semi-hack recommended by the Batik mailing list last year as a fix to this problem. Nothing too horrendous, just the addition of a certain XML attribute to elements that hold flowing text. I'll post a more detailed description of the fix in the UI forum later. In the meantime, the existing games should look normal on Macs running Gamut 0.4.1. |
