Gamut Game Finder Crash

Back to topics list

When you open Gamut, not using any web browser, and the Gamut Game finder opens, if you click on any of the games on the list to try to start a new table, you hear this sound like glass shattering. Then, either nothing happens, or you get an error message saying this:

The Game Finder service does not appear to be working correctly. We apologize for the problem.

Try reloading the Finder page

Please report problems using our bug report service (http://volity.net/bugs/beta_bugform.html)

I've tried reloading, nothing. Although, if you hit the Game List button (the up arrow), and there is a game currently running, you can join that table. Basically, I can't start any new tables unless i open a web browser and go to the site, and manually create a table that way. Any help would be great! Thanx.

What OS are you running on, and what version of Java do you have?
Java Version 6.2 on Windows XP Home Edition 2002

Has the game finder in Gamut worked for you before, or did this problem only recently start happening?

Other users have made similar complaints, and it's a very tricky bug that only seems to happen under specific circumstances... we're hoping to narrow in on it!

It's always been crashing for me. The only way I can make tables is to go through the web browser to the site. Anything i can do to help in chasing this bug down, please let me know

I'm experiencing a similar problem. But I'm using Linux (the OpenSuse 10.3 distribution.)

I run the JAR from a shell, and when I click on a game, a shattering glass noise is played and the shell displays the following:

ERROR: '' Detected exception: org.xhtmlrenderer.util.XRRuntimeException: Can't load the XML resource (using TRaX transformer). java.lang.NullPointerException

Occasionally I get the error message LethalWolf mentioned as well.
